Simple, straightforward help.
Includes up to one hour of help.
Serving Carson Valley. In-home visits are by appointment, and only if you're comfortable having me come to your home. I currently offer in-person help, not remote support.
Request an appointment
Tell me a little about what's going on. This will prepare a text message for you to review and send. It does not automatically book an appointment.
Common questions
What areas do you serve?
Carson Valley and nearby communities. Send a text with your location and we'll confirm whether I can make the trip.
Do you come to my home?
Yes, by appointment, if you're comfortable with an in-home visit. We'll arrange the details beforehand.
How much does it cost?
A house call is $45 and includes up to one hour of help. If the issue needs more time, we'll talk about it before going further.
Can you fix anything?
No one can promise that. I'll take a look, explain what I find in plain English, and let you know if it's outside what I can reasonably handle.
Do you offer remote support?
No. I currently provide in-person help only.
What should I do before you arrive?
If possible, have the device and any related cables or chargers handy. Don't share passwords by text. You can enter them yourself when needed.
A few quick tech tips
Try a restart first
If a device is acting strangely, a normal restart can clear temporary glitches. Save your work first.
Be careful with pop-ups
Unexpected warnings claiming your computer is infected may be scams. Don't call the number shown in the pop-up.
Don't lose your photos
Keep another copy of important pictures, such as on an external drive or a trusted cloud backup.
Check the simple things
For Wi-Fi trouble, check whether other devices connect and whether the router has power before changing settings.
Updates matter
Install updates from your device's normal settings menu, not from links in unexpected messages.
Never rush a password
Don't give passwords or verification codes to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
Need a hand?
Call or text and tell me what's giving you trouble. We'll figure out the next step.
